Austerman Genealogy

Since establishing this web site in 1996, I have received numerous inquiries from folks across the USA wondering if we might be distant relatives. Unfortunately, I have not had the time to research the Austerman name in depth, but will hopefully do so sometime in the distant future.

I am aware of different branches of the Austerman family near Kansas City, upstate New York, and Alaska, but do not know what the common bond is with the Austerman surname.

The only part of the Austerman family I am familiar with was rooted in Richmond, Indiana in the 1940's. My great-grandfather was William C. Austerman, born in 1887 and died in 1970. I know there was at least one cousin of William in the Richmond area at that time as well.
