Sorry for the lack of postings lately. A nasty cold sucked all my posting energy out (as has the play of the Detroit Tigers).
I'm still in a grouchy mood, but now it's because of how the Red Wings have essentially been outplayed the last two games and now find themselves having to work harder than they thought they would to advance to the next round. Game 6 will be the biggest test of the year for this team -- and while they have just as good a chance as Dallas, they've got to find something to grab back the momentum.
Where I once thought there would be no way that the Stars' Marty Turco could pull off two wins at Joe Louis, I now have thoughts the other way. A game seven is a bad, bad idea guys.
It's kinda sad to say, but the Tigers season is all but over before we even get to June. The losses they are having are just devastating. 0-6 against Kansas City? Unable to hold leads? Right now, I'm watching as the Tigers lead 3-0 against Arizona, but the Diamondbacks have loaded the bases with no one out courtesy of three straight walks from Tigers pitchers. Inexcusable, unbelievable, and yet predictable this year. If the score is anything but 3-3 or 4-3 Arizona after this inning, I'll be shocked.
Just amazing looking at the newspaper today and seeing on the same page that the Detroit Public Schools have mulitmillion dollar budget troubles at the same time the mayor of Detroit selfishly hosts dinners to try and raise money for his legal defense. In my opinion, that says it all about why this region struggles as it does. Misplaced priorities anyone?
