The most polarized city in the country gets worse

|

Unbelievable that the mayor of Detroit can make a speech like the one tonight that does nothing but put a bigger wedge between the people that support him and others that would like to see him removed from office. Anything good that may have come out of his State of the City speech is now completely overshadowed by nothing more than a temper tantrum.

If he truly did care about the city, he would resign and put an end to all of this immediately. There are other people in this world that could move the city of Detroit forward -- he is not the only person qualified to do so. It's time for him to set his inflated ego aside and do the right thing.

What I see is a person repeating the mistakes of the past -- instead of trying to build a community, we have someone that causes more and more division solely as a means to protect his own interests. I fear that what I observed tonight in about 5 minutes set Detroit back 30 years- but if that's true, it gives Kilpatrick just what he wants... more power.
