First day of spring?

|

On St. Patrick's Day most years, I'm already thinking about putting down the crabgrass prevention fertilizer (which usually doesn't work anyhow). This year, there is still a touch of snow in the backyard and snow piles along the sides of our driveway. The snow stacked up down by the street is still about 3 feet tall -- and unless we get some more 50+ degree days quickly, those piles will probably be around April 1st.

Although the calendar clearly shows tomorrow is the first day of spring, we haven't turned the corner on winter at all. There really hasn't even been enough nice days to cause a big outbreak of spring fever yet. It's hard to believe that Easter is this weekend and that the Tigers will be playing attempting to play their home opener in about 12 days. I wouldn't be surprised a bit if proper attire for the first ballgame of the year is a snowsuit.

March 2008 ... in like a Lion, out like a Lion?
