For the first time I can remember, people are really worried about getting single-game Tigers tickets. For nearly every game! When the doors were opened, both in person and online, at 10 this morning there was lots of demand, most of it out of fear of sellouts before getting a chance to purchase tickets through the team. I was one of those people in the Tigers.com waiting room this morning and luckily getting through wasn't impossible and we'll be seeing the Tigers in person this year. I'm not one to buy from scalpers, the tickets are expensive enough at face value.
My oldest son is expressing a stronger interest this year and hopefully his younger brother will enjoy the game they will go to more than the one we all went to last year. The seats for their game should help- upper deck boxes right in the front row, so they won't have to worry about seeing over someone else's head. Now I just have to hope the game itself goes better than that game they went to last year - I think it was 9-0 Seattle after just a few innings and bored just about everyone to death. Maybe this time it'll be 9-0 Tigers for their sake.
I have to say the online system they are using to sell tickets has been much improved over recent years. Although the wait was long, the connection was never broken and everything worked well once I was allowed to select and purchase the seats. I remember trying to buy tickets before during busy periods and having the entire web site just stop functioning. Tim Allen's answer of more power seems to be working well in this case.
The best part of buying online today -- I didn't have to wait outside in the cold. Which I wouldn't do anyway.
Go Tigers!
