Thomas recall - update 4

|

It looks like the promised delivery date for the replacement trains from RC2 will be delayed by at least a month, which shouldn't be be a surprise. But I do give the company props for sending out an e-mail with another update complete with a link to view the estimated ship date (in our case, it's October 16th) and an explanation for the delay. If these new safety procedures work to prevent any more recalls, it's worth the extra wait.

Here's the text of the latest e-mail:

Thank you for participating in our recent recall of certain Thomas & Friends wooden train toys. We want you to know that the status of your replacement order is now available to you online. Please visit http://recalls.rc2.com and follow the easy instructions. Your Reference Number is *snipped*. Please keep this handy for your reference as you access the site.

As you may know, we have significantly expanded our toy quality assurance, inspection and testing programs. This applies not only to incoming materials but to the finished toys themselves. The implementation of these additional safeguards has resulted in some delay in shipping replacement orders. While we deeply regret this delay, our top priority is and always will be toy
safety. We appreciate your patience and assure you we are working hard to ship your order as quickly as possible.

Please allow 10 days from the Scheduled Ship Date of your replacement order
for your product to arrive.
