Tigers middle relief causing undue stress

|

Every game, with the exception of something special like a no-hitter, is an adventure with the Tigers. If their offense is on, they score 7 or so runs, then just pray that its enough when the pitching parade of middle relievers starts. It seems that every inning results in a rally or dangerous situation for Tigers relievers. Not even during the 119 loss season do I remember pitching that is this maddening to watch.

Of course, I wasn't watching as many games at that time.

It will be interesting to see if the quality of the relief pitching can get better with the return of Kenny Rogers and Nate Robertson to the starting rotation. Hopefully both guys will be well once again and help to minimize the number of innings the relievers have to pitch.

When Zumaya went down, it was pretty clear that he would be missed. But watching Fernando Rodney pitch in his place is almost more than I can handle.
