After watching the former site of T-Birds Chicken and Ribs sit empty for months, serious construction of yet another bank is finally underway (pictured). That prompted me to try the telephone number for T-Birds one last time -- it has been disconnected. I'm still disappointed that the owner totally gave up, even though I understand. The restaurant business is tough and it's hard to compete with the marketing clout of national / regional chains.
I'm going to try and do a better job of supporting local businesses whenever possible. Starting with mentioning my favorite place for Fish and Chips: Dublin Fish and Chips on Hayes Rd. between 18 and 19 Mile Roads in Clinton Township. The food is great, the service is excellent, and the prices are reasonable -- everything you could ask for. It's mostly a carryout biz, but they do have a few tables too (that are usually full on Friday evenings). Call 'em at (586) 416-3474.
