Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Grayling

|

We recently returned from our second camping trip of the year at the Yogi Bear park in Grayling. In all, we've been going to this particular campground for the past 8 years. Why do we keep going back? For one, it's probably the most relaxed atmosphere that we've experienced at any campground. It's laid back but maintains all the features of the Yogi parks that make them a great place for families. As far as the Jellystones go, this one is pretty "rustic" - no paved roads, a smallish camp store, no seperate snack bar, etc. What they do have is numerous playgrounds that are especially nice for small kids and constant activities during the weekends. The drive from the Detroit area isn't too bad and you still get to be 'up north'.

Probably the worst thing this year was the condition of the dirt county road you have to drive on to get there - the washboard effect was so bad, we couldn't go faster than about 5 MPH with the trailer on for fear of having everything fall apart.
