After years of hearing positive things about the Toledo Zoo, we finally made a visit there earlier today. Our assessment is pretty much the same as everyone else's- it's a great zoo for kids, way more user friendly than the Detroit Zoo. At almost every exhibit, the animals were easy to see and very close so that the kids could get a great view and not get bored. Also nice was that fact that exhibits are relatively close together and you don't have to waste a lot of your day walking without seeing anything.
I can definitely see why the Toledo Zoo gets better reviews from visitors than the Detroit Zoo. There is plenty of good food available and it's not too overpriced, the kids can really see, and there is just the right amount of Zoo to cover in a day. When you can make it through pretty much the entire thing with a 5 and 3 year old and they are still happy at the end of the day, you've done good!
